Job Overview
A leading Tier 1 construction contractor in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly experienced Director – Project Controls to lead and manage the organization’s Planning, Cost Control, Productivity, and Contracts functions.
The role will ensure strong project governance, schedule adherence, cost efficiency, and effective contract management across multiple large-scale construction projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership and project teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with corporate objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Project Scheduling
Oversee project planning strategies including baseline schedules and tender programmes.
Monitor project progress and productivity across multiple projects.
Identify schedule risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to maintain project timelines.
Cost Control & Financial Performance
Develop and monitor project budgets and cost performance metrics.
Ensure efficient utilization of resources and cost optimization.
Collaborate with finance, procurement, and project teams to control expenditures.
Provide accurate project performance reporting to senior management.
Contracts Management
Manage contract administration for major construction projects.
Oversee variations, claims management, and dispute resolution processes.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
Provide commercial support and guidance to project teams.
Leadership & Strategic Coordination
Lead and mentor planning, cost control, and contracts teams.
Establish performance monitoring frameworks and reporting systems.
Coordinate with senior management to align project delivery with company strategy.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within project controls.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
20–25 years of experience in Project Controls within the construction industry.
Proven experience with Tier 1 contractors or large-scale infrastructure projects.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
