ITS / DMS System Engineer

Location: Dubai, UAE

Sector: Intelligent Transport Systems & Infrastructure

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced System Engineer to lead the technical design, configuration, and integration of Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Lane Control Systems (LCS). This role is a key technical position within the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) infrastructure team, responsible for ensuring system performance from the design phase through to final handover and operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Documentation: Support the preparation and technical review of system design documents, including the Functional System Design Document (FSDD).

  • System Configuration: Lead the review and configuration of Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Lane Control Systems (LCS) hardware and software.

  • Integration & Testing: Manage the installation and integration of field devices with headend software and Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS).

  • Quality Assurance: Lead and participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).

  • Technical Troubleshooting: Perform high-level system fault resolution and troubleshooting during the testing and operational phases.

  • Project Handover: Prepare critical As-built drawings and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals, and provide technical training to the Employer’s operations team.

Candidate Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Communication Engineering.

  • Experience: 7–12 years of professional experience in Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) or traffic management projects.

  • Technical Expertise: Proven track record in the installation, configuration, and system integration of field devices (specifically DMS and LCS).

  • Networking: Strong exposure to fiber optic communication and network-based infrastructure.

  • Mobility: A valid UAE Driving License is mandatory for site-to-site coordination and field-based engineering tasks.
