Contracts Manager – Oil & Gas (Senior Site Leadership)

Role Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Contracts Manager with an extensive background in large-scale Oil & Gas construction projects. This is a senior, site-based leadership position responsible for the total lifecycle of contract and subcontract administration. The ideal candidate will act as the commercial backbone of the project, ensuring rigorous compliance, mitigating financial risk, and managing high-value negotiations in a fast-paced site environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Leadership: Lead the end-to-end subcontract lifecycle, including strategic preparation, technical evaluation, and award processes for multi-million SAR packages.

  • Contract Administration: Oversee the administration of prime contracts and subcontracts, meticulously managing variations, amendments, and complex claims.

  • Strategic Negotiation: Serve as the lead negotiator for subcontract terms, competitive pricing models, and sophisticated commercial conditions.

  • Performance Oversight: Monitor and audit subcontractor performance against contractual KPIs, managing invoice approvals and payment certifications.

  • Dispute & Claims Resolution: Proactively manage contract modifications and lead the resolution of commercial disputes and claims to protect project interests.

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Act as a key advisor to project, procurement, and legal teams, providing expert commercial support to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all contractual activities adhere to corporate policies, client mandates (e.g., ARAMCO/Ministry standards), and international regulatory benchmarks.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of professional experience in the Oil & Gas industry, specifically within construction and site-based environments.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Project History: A proven track record of managing high-value, complex contracts in the Saudi Arabian market.

  • Legal & Commercial Knowledge: Deep expertise in Contract Law, commercial best practices, and FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) standards.

  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to navigate multi-cultural site environments.
