Position Overview

Senior Mechanical Estimator Jobs Dubai: We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator – Mechanical with a strong background in Data Centre and MEP projects to prepare accurate, competitive, and technically compliant cost estimates for complex mechanical systems.

The successful candidate will have strong expertise in mechanical estimation, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, tendering, cost analysis, and bid submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive mechanical cost estimates for Data Centre and MEP projects.
• Review tender documents, drawings, BOQs, specifications, scope of work, and project requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs and BOQ validation.
• Estimate mechanical systems including:
  • HVAC systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Fire protection systems
  • Associated mechanical services
• Analyze supplier and subcontractor quotations for technical compliance and commercial competitiveness.
• Prepare detailed cost comparisons and commercial bid evaluations.
• Coordinate with Design, Procurement, Commercial, Planning, and Project teams throughout the tendering process.
• Prepare technical and commercial bid comparisons.
• Support tender submissions and ensure estimates accurately reflect project scope, specifications, requirements, and deadlines.
• Review design requirements and identify potential cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.
• Maintain historical cost databases, productivity benchmarks, material pricing, and estimation records.
• Participate in tender clarification meetings, pre-bid discussions, site visits, and post-tender negotiations where required.
• Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project delivery requirements.

Data Centre & Mechanical Estimation

The role requires strong understanding of the specialized mechanical requirements associated with Data Centre projects, including HVAC, cooling infrastructure, plumbing, fire protection, and other critical mechanical services.

Experience in estimating mechanical systems for mission-critical and high-reliability facilities will be highly valued.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–12 years of estimating experience in MEP projects.
• Mandatory experience in Data Centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • HVAC systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Fire protection systems
  • Mechanical services
• Excellent understanding of BOQs, quantity take-offs, tendering, cost estimation, and bid preparation.
• Experience evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Experience with estimation software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, commercial, communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Design, Procurement, Commercial, Planning, and Project teams.

Technical & Commercial Expertise

The ideal candidate should have practical experience in mechanical estimation, MEP tendering, HVAC estimation, plumbing estimation, fire protection estimation, BOQ preparation, quantity surveying, cost analysis, supplier evaluation, subcontractor pricing, and commercial bid preparation.

Experience specifically within Data Centre mechanical estimation and critical infrastructure projects is mandatory.
