Position Overview

CFO Jobs Dubai: We are seeking an experienced CFO / Finance Director to lead the finance function of a major construction and contracting organization in Dubai.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and commercial leadership across project finance, financial planning, budgeting, cost control, cash flow management, working capital, financial reporting, and financial governance.

The role requires a senior finance professional with substantial experience within construction or contracting organizations, combined with strong knowledge of project-based financial management and commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the overall finance function and provide strategic financial leadership to the organization.
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives and project requirements.
• Oversee project finance, project costing, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, liquidity, and treasury requirements.
• Monitor project profitability, cost performance, margins, and financial risks.
• Establish and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and procedures.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable financial and regulatory requirements.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to support senior management decision-making.
• Oversee financial planning for major construction and contracting projects.
• Monitor project budgets against actual costs and identify variances and corrective actions.
• Manage working capital requirements across projects and business operations.
• Support commercial teams with financial analysis, cost control, contract evaluation, and project performance reviews.
• Lead the finance team and develop a high-performing financial management function.
• Manage relationships with banks, auditors, financial institutions, stakeholders, and other external parties.
• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Provide senior leadership with financial forecasts, dashboards, business performance reports, and strategic recommendations.

Construction & Contracting Finance Experience

The successful candidate must have strong experience working within a construction or contracting company and understand the financial complexities of project-based businesses.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 15+ years of finance experience, with significant experience at CFO, Finance Director, or equivalent senior finance level.
• Mandatory construction or contracting company experience.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in project finance, costing, cash flow, and working capital.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial governance.
• CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional finance qualification is preferred.
• UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
• Strong commercial acumen and strategic financial leadership capability.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a senior finance leader with proven experience managing finance functions within construction, contracting, infrastructure, engineering, or other project-driven organizations.

Experience managing complex project portfolios, controlling construction costs, optimizing working capital, improving cash flow, and supporting commercial decision-making will be highly valued.
