Contracts Engineer – Oil & Gas (Site-Based)

Location: Saudi Arabia (Site-Based)

Salary: SAR 7,000 – 10,000

Role Summary

We are seeking a Contracts Engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering to manage site-level contract administration for a major Oil & Gas construction project in Saudi Arabia. This role is focused on the end-to-end lifecycle of subcontract management, ensuring commercial compliance, and protecting project interests through rigorous documentation and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Subcontract Administration: Lead the preparation, evaluation, and detailed documentation of subcontracts, ensuring alignment with prime contract requirements.

  • Commercial Negotiation: Support the negotiation of subcontract terms, pricing structures, and commercial conditions to optimize project budgets.

  • Performance Monitoring: Conduct site-level monitoring of subcontractor deliverables to ensure technical and timely compliance with contractual milestones.

  • Financial Processing: Review and certify subcontractor invoices and payment applications, managing the certification process from site to finance.

  • Claims & Variations: Support the identification, documentation, and management of contract modifications, variations, and potential claims to mitigate project risk.

  • Compliance: Ensure all site-based activities adhere to company policies, client requirements, and international contract standards.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.

  • Experience: Minimum 6+ years of professional experience specifically within the Oil & Gas sector.

  • Site Experience: Proven track record in site-based construction roles; candidates must be comfortable working in remote or project-site environments in KSA.

  • Contractual Knowledge: Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial processes. Familiarity with FIDIC (International Federation of Consulting Engineers) standards is a significant advantage.

  • Skills: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to communicate technical-commercial details to multi-disciplinary teams.
