Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced QC Inspector – Steel Structure & Foundation to monitor construction activities at a major infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting steel structure erection and foundation works, verifying compliance with approved drawings and project specifications, and maintaining the required quality documentation.
This position is suitable for a quality control professional with hands-on construction site inspection experience, strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures and the ability to coordinate effectively with site engineers, construction teams and project consultants during night shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections of steel structure erection and foundation works during night shifts.
- Verify that construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications and project quality requirements.
- Inspect steel erection activities, structural alignment, connections and installation works in accordance with approved procedures.
- Inspect foundation works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and applicable inspection requirements.
- Coordinate with site engineers, construction supervisors, QA/QC engineers and consultants for inspections and approvals.
- Review inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, checklists and relevant quality documentation.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
- Identify defects, deviations and non-conformities, and report them through the established NCR process.
- Monitor corrective actions and verify that identified quality issues are resolved.
- Ensure inspections are completed at the required stages before work proceeds to the next activity.
- Follow project quality procedures and applicable health, safety and site requirements.
- Maintain clear communication with construction teams to resolve quality issues and minimise rework.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant construction experience in quality control or QA/QC inspection.
- Hands-on experience in steel structure inspection, steel erection and foundation works.
- Good understanding of approved construction drawings, technical specifications and inspection procedures.
- Knowledge of inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, inspection checklists and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Experience coordinating inspections with site teams, QA/QC engineers and consultants.
- Ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.
- Previous experience on major infrastructure or large-scale construction projects is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work night shifts at the project site.
- Ability to work in a site-based environment and coordinate with multiple project stakeholders.
Work Location
The role is based at the Barakah project site in Abu Dhabi, with candidates required to be comfortable working in the Ruwais / Barakah area as applicable to project arrangements.
Salary
AED 5,000–7,000 per month, depending on relevant experience and suitability.
