Technical Manager – Ruwais | High-Security Construction
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager for a major, high-profile building project in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, involving the construction and reinforcement of highly secure structures.
The successful candidate will lead the project's technical management, design coordination, and construction-stage engineering activities, acting as the key interface between the design team, construction team, consultants, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage technical and design coordination activities across the project.
- Act as the key technical interface between designers, consultants, construction teams, and project management.
- Manage technical coordination throughout the construction and Design & Build stages.
- Review and coordinate IFC drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, and technical queries.
- Resolve technical and design issues in coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines.
- Manage design changes and ensure technical information is issued in line with construction requirements.
- Coordinate with consultants and design teams to obtain timely approvals.
- Oversee BIM coordination and ensure effective use of the Common Data Environment (CDE).
- Support construction teams in resolving technical issues and maintaining project progress.
- Lead technical meetings, coordination sessions, and design reviews.
- Ensure technical deliverables comply with project specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
- Support project management with technical risk identification and resolution.
- Coordinate technical documentation throughout construction and handover.
Candidate Requirements
- 15–20 years of overall construction/building experience.
- Strong experience working for a main contractor on major projects.
- Proven experience as a Technical Manager, Design Manager, or Engineering Manager.
- Minimum 10 years of technical coordination, RFIs, and technical queries experience.
- Minimum 10 years of IFC drawings and design coordination experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience using/managing BIM and CDE platforms.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on mission-critical or high-security building projects.
- Strong knowledge of Design & Build projects and construction-stage technical coordination.
- Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
- Experience with BIM and Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms.
- Previous experience on large, complex, and fast-track building projects preferred.
- Middle East experience is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, technical coordination, and problem-solving skills.
